Free eBay Listing Analyzer
SafeBay's eBay listing analyzer reads a live listing and tells you what holds it back: a score out of 100, a verdict on the title, item specifics, description, photos, price and policies, and three keyword-first titles that fit eBay's 80-unit limit.
What the analyzer looks at
The same things eBay's Best Match and a careful buyer weigh, read from the live listing.
- Title
- Length against the 80-unit limit, keyword order (brand, product, model, attributes), filler words and caps.
- Item specifics
- How many are filled, which ones buyers filter on are missing, and placeholders like "N/A".
- Photos
- How many of the 24 slots are used. Listings with fewer than five photos convert worse.
- Description
- Length, whether it answers condition, fit and what is included, and whether it repeats the title.
- Price, shipping and returns
- The price buyers see with shipping, free shipping, and the return window eBay rewards.
- Three better titles
- Keyword-first rewrites from the listing's own facts, each counted in eBay's units, with a Copy button.

Questions about the listing analyzer
What does the eBay listing analyzer check?
It reads the live listing through eBay's own API and measures what buyers and eBay's search weigh: the title (length in eBay's 80-unit limit, keyword order), the item specifics (filled and missing), the description, the number of photos, and the price with its shipping and return terms. An AI reviewer then scores the listing, explains each area and writes three keyword-first titles.
How many listings can I analyze for free?
Three a day without an account, counted per browser and per network address. A free SafeBay account raises that to 10 a day. A listing analyzed in the last 24 hours is served from the cache and does not count.
Why does it say the listing cannot be read?
eBay's API serves live listings only. An ended listing, or one with variations (several sizes or colours under one number), is not served, so the analyzer cannot read it. Paste the link of a live, single-variation listing.
Does analyzing a listing change it on eBay?
No. The analyzer only reads the public listing, the same data any buyer sees. Nothing is written to eBay and nothing is sent to the seller. Apply the suggestions yourself in Seller Hub, or let SafeBay's Companion fill and check listings as you write them.
Why is the title limit 80 "units" rather than characters?
eBay counts titles in UTF-16 units, the way a browser does. A plain letter is one unit; an emoji or a decorative Unicode letter is two. The analyzer counts the same way, so its suggested titles always fit.
Can I analyze someone else's listing?
Yes. The report uses only public listing data, which is why it is a fair way to see how a competitor's listing compares with yours. The daily quota applies either way.
