About SafeBay
SafeBay is a toolkit for eBay sellers, made by an eBay seller. It lets sellers warn each other about buyers who abuse returns and claims, blocks those buyers on each seller’s own eBay account, and writes listings with AI on eBay’s own form. It is run by Safebay PRO LLC, a Nevada limited liability company.
Why SafeBay exists

eBay announced the rule in February 2008, according to Ars Technica’s report at the time (opens in a new tab). Before it, a negative from a seller was how the next seller learned about a buyer. Since then, an empty-box return or a false “item not received” claim leaves no mark on the buyer’s record.
eBay does let each seller block buyers: a seller’s Blocked buyers list holds up to 5,000 usernames, according to eBay Help (opens in a new tab). But every seller fills that list alone, after the loss. SafeBay lets one seller’s lesson reach the others first.
How reports are reviewed
The same methodology for every report, whoever sends it.

A seller reports a buyer, with evidence
Photos, screenshots, the order: whatever shows what happened.

SafeBay reviews it before anyone sees it
A report reaches other sellers only once it is approved. Until then nobody else sees it.

Risk counts sellers, not reports
Low when one seller reported the buyer, Medium for two or three, High for four or more. One angry seller can’t make a buyer High risk.

Each seller decides what gets blocked
The Companion blocks only the risk levels a seller picks, and their own whitelist always wins.

Buyers can appeal
A reported buyer can appeal from their buyer profile page. Inaccurate reports are removed or corrected.
