SafeBay is a Chrome extension that helps eBay sellers monitor their business activities by:

Displaying real-time counts of orders, listings, messages, and returns
Providing browser notifications with sound alerts for new orders and messages
Offering quick access to eBay's blocked buyers management
Creating convenient shortcuts to important eBay seller pages
Scanning eBay pages for blacklisted buyers and displaying warnings
Enabling automatic blacklist synchronization with SafeBay web platform

🔍 How We Access Your Data

Method: SafeBay reads publicly accessible eBay web pages that you're already logged into, using the same permissions your browser has when you visit eBay normally.

Scope: Only eBay seller dashboard pages (orders, listings, messages, returns, blocked buyers) that you can access through your eBay account.

Frequency: Automatic checks every 1 minute for messages, every 20 minutes for other data, only when extension is active.

💾 Data Storage & Processing

Local Browser Storage Only:

Order counts - Temporarily cached to detect changes and show notifications
Message counts - Stored briefly to identify new messages
Blocked buyers list - Cached locally for quick access and copying
User preferences - Notification settings and refresh intervals
Timestamps - Last update times to optimize checking frequency
OAuth tokens - Secure authentication tokens for SafeBay web platform integration (stored locally, encrypted by Chrome)

Important: All data is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage using Chrome's secure storage API. This data:

Never leaves your computer
Is not accessible to other websites
Is automatically cleared when you uninstall the extension
Is not backed up or synchronized anywhere

🌐 Network Activity

eBay and SafeBay Communications Only:

SafeBay communicates with eBay.com domains (*.ebay.com, *.ebay.ca) for data scraping
SafeBay communicates with safebay.store for OAuth authentication and blacklist synchronization (only when user explicitly connects account)
Uses standard HTTPS requests identical to normal web browsing
No data is sent to external servers, analytics services, or third parties
No tracking pixels, cookies, or identifiers are created by SafeBay

SafeBay requests these Chrome permissions for legitimate functionality:

storage - Save your notification preferences and cache data locally
